Blah.

This month has been turrrrible. Actually, the last two. No matter.

I have still been taking pictures, but almost exclusively for my photography class. Yes, I'm finally taking a photography class. It's about time, I know. It's sad though - the first month made me want to hang up my camera. Which is unfortunate, because 1. everyone knows that placing it carefully on a level surface is far better than hanging it, and 2. photography is about the only thing that cheers me up and makes me forget that I live alone in an unsafe environment in a state that I feel absolutely no connection to. So. You can imagine my relief when that passed. I got over my feeling of inadequacy...at least in this class, and now I love it. I love shooting with a 35mm again. I love processing my own film. I love dodging, burning, and watching a print appear before my darkroom-adjusted eyes. I've had to completely overhaul my patience level, however; I've gotten used to the (ugh) digital world, where everything can be seen and uploaded and printed within seconds. I spent 7 solid hours in the dark room a couple weeks ago. This thing that I love is (or started out to be) an art form in every aspect; from start to finish. I'm glad I have the opportunity to see and learn that before dark rooms are extinct.

I'm hoping to scan in some of my work from the class soon, but until then, I'll keep posting the photos I have left.
